Melbourne-based band Symbiosis began as the acoustic brainchild of songwriters Micka Etheridge and Fraser Montgomery. Over the years, it grew to a trio, and eventually to a 5-piece powerhouse act that has graced stages and festivals all around Australia. Symbiosis dishes out a melting pot of musical flavours, serving up a sublime mix of uplifting, soulful reggae grooves with a side dish of roots, dub and beats. It's a sound that's fresh, appealing and invites listeners to climb right on board and get dancing.
After releasing their Wishing Well EP in 2006, the band returned with their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2008. The band toured heavily in support of the album, supporting the likes of The Cat Empire, Resin Dogs, The Hoodoo Gurus and Evermore.
Songs from both the EP and Album have had extensive radio play on local, community and nationally broadcast stations such as Triple J, ABC 774 and Radio National, PBS FM, RRR FM, 4ZZZ FM. In early 2008, songwriters Micka and Fraser signed with Gaga. Since then, their music has appeared on a number of Australian television programs, including Underbelly, Bondi Rescue and J TV, as well as in several films.
