Charlie Mayfair officially came out as a band in early 2010, but the five friends who make up the Brisbane folk-pop outfit had been playing together a lot longer than that.

The first peek Australian listeners got at Charlie Mayfair was Watch My Hands, the band's gorgeous debut ep, released in 2010. It was worth the wait: sublime, three-part harmonies atop carefully considered arrangements, inspired by Bob Dylan and the best of sixties pop but possessed of its own spark and charm.

In 2011, Charlie Mayfair continued to move from strength to strength, touring widely, building a growing following and heading into the studio with producer Matt Redlich (Hungry Kids of Hungary) to record their keenly awaited second ep.

In mid 2011, Charlie Mayfair let us in on their evolving sound with the single Tell Her, which Triple J's Dom Alessio described simply and aptly as 'uplifting and epic'. Featuring a slightly moodier tone, Tell Her is the sound of a band continuing to move forward, the band's signature harmonies swirling above a rich, immersive arrangement that's more urgent than anything the band has done before. We can't wait to hear what comes next.
