Ceuso is the publishing arm of revered Berlin-based independent label City Slang. Formed by former tour agent Christof Ellinghaus, City Slang started out as a label for US bands that needed a release in Europe.

More specifically, the label was set up initially to put out one record: the Flaming Lips' In A Priest Driven Ambulance (With Silver Sunshine Stares). But when 1990 hit, a bunch of other bands -- namely The Lemonheads, Das Damen and the mighty Yo La Tengo -- all needed somebody in Europe to release their records. And so City Slang was born. Over the next two decades the label grew and flourished, developing one of the most enviable rosters in independent music.
