Animal Collective Australian tour confirmed!
Posted: 21 August, 2009
It was rumoured, and then, wonderfully, magically, it came true: experimental pop luminaries Animal Collective will be hitting our shores this summer. In December, the three-piece will hit Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and... Meredith, a small sheep farming town of around 3000 people halfway between Geelong and Ballarat. There, Avey Tare, Panda Bear and the Geologist will join a Meredith Music Festival line-up that we can say, without any hyperbole, is, if not the best ever, then the best in a long, long time.
Touring on the back of their phenomenally successful underwater pop masterpiece Merriweather Post Pavilion, Animal Collective will join hyper-literate-rapper-turned-indie-popper Why?, awesome New York commune fruiters Akron/Family and the gracefully aging British gentleman Jarvis Cocker on a line-up that promises to make the clamoring for tickets to this Australian summer institution even more frenzied than usual. Here are the rest of the dates:
10/12/09 Tivoli, Brisbane
11/12/09 Enmore Theatre, Sydney
12/12/09 Meredith Music Festival
17/12/09 Capitol, Perth
Pete : 21 August, 2009
