Akron/Family is three friends/artists/musicians that collaborate synergistically on music and art projects. Like the Wu Tang Clan, it often expands to include many other pop, experimental, free jazz, and performance artists, and in this regard the band looks forward to being in films with Bill Murray.

Since forming in Brooklyn, NYC in 2002 as a four piece, Akron/Family have released five albums of rich, unpredictable, often heartbreakingly beautiful psych-tinged folk-rock, their recordings incorporating everything from choirs and horns and strings to field recordings of thunderclaps and TV static. It's safe to say that Akron/Family are not like any other band, their gloriously cracked songs inhabiting a universe all their own.
